"We came on the wind of the carnival. A warm wind for February,
laden with hot greasy scents of frying pancakes and sausages and powdery-sweet waffles
cooked on the hotplate right there on the roadside, with confetti sleeting
down on collars and cuffs and rolling into gutters like an idiot antidote to winter.
There is a febrile excitement in the crowds which line the narrow
main street, necks craning to catch sight
of the crepe-covered char with it's trailing ribbons and paper rosettes.
Anouk watches, eyes wide, a yellow balloon in one hand and a toy trumpet in the other,
from between a shopping-basket and a sad brown dog"
I can totally picture the scene!! Also, the way the chocolate shop is described is amazing :) I'd recommend this book to anyone :D I'm meant to be reading books with the theme of Rivalry at the moment, in particular Sibling Rivalry but that's not essential. Got a huge reading list from my teacher!! I've been trying to get into 'Enduring Love' by Ian McEwan but I haven't really got into it :/ I think I might just need to sit down and concentrate properly :P I've also got 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' at the moment which I need to read.

One of my favourite songs just came on my mp3... 'Mr Right' by A Rocket To The Moon. There is a beautiful line in the second verse:
"It's true,
The moment he laid eyes on you he knew
The only wish he wanted came true
He knows he's lucky that he met someone like you"
But anyway, I was meant to go on the Induction Course for Co-op yesterday. So I turned up at 1:00 pm, after blagging a lift from my parents, only to be told by the manager that the course had been cancelled and put to today instead and they couldn't contact me because they sent all my details off to head office without copying them down. Well done Co-op. But hey, at least I've got a job now!! The course was actually pretty good, there was 10 of us there and I was among the oldest. I got my shifts (Saturday & Monday nights 6-10) and my uniform which actually fits okay considering its for work :P It consists of: Black trousers, Black polo shirt with Lime Green trim and a Black Fleece with 'The Co-operative" written on the back. The fleece is a little bit big because I over estimated and went for medium instead of small :/ Oops. So I'm going to see if I can swap it when I start, which won't be for a week now because of the Youth Choir Residential course next week (N) But hey :) All's good. AND I FINALLY GOT A JOB :D So that's one of my Summer aim's ticked off :)Whilst on the subject of summer aims, I can't remember if I said I booked my driving theory test for a couple of weeks time and I'm too lazy to go back through posts and look ;) But I tried a practise test off the disk I got for Christmas the other day and got 43 out of 50, which is just a pass (you have to get 43 to pass in the test) :D But I was still really happy because it was the first time I tried one. I need to ring my instructor tomorrow and book some lessons so I can book my practical test once I've done a bit more. I just want to be able to drive rather than having to beg for lifts or stand in the rain waiting for the bus... Today, just so I could get a lift to Co-op, I had to hoover the whole house -_- Not that it took that long but still. And it was pouring down so it was worth it.
One of my favourite songs at the moment: 'You Found Me' - The Fray (See blog title :P)

I'm doing pretty well with my eating regime. This week, it's been fairly easy to get away with eating barely anything. The only meal I've had is tea, which I HAVE to because we normally sit down as a family but I've asked for smaller portions. Next week will be easy as well because I'm away at the residential so I won't really have to eat anything. Plus, I'm finding I'm not getting hungry as much, like I've trained myself to not need as much. I've been out running as well. Which I hate. It's a chore but I'm thinking to the reward I guess. Also, I don't see the point in running for the hell of it... I much prefer to be running with a ball down a pitch or running to hit a shuttlecock back across the court. Because then, there's a purpose to the running. I prefer to have a purpose. I don't agree with this picture but I guess the sentiment is nice so I thought I'd post it anyway...

| It's easy for them to say -_- |
My favourite item of clothing at the moment is definitely my dark purpler Animal hoodie. Even though we're supposed to be in the middle of summer. What's summer?! :P But anyway, this hoodie is so snug and warm. Plus it fits nicely, not too baggy and not too tight :) Just thought I'd throw that in there :P
Had my last Violin lesson EVER today :'( It was sad because I've had the same teacher for nine years and I'm quitting and she's retiring. I got her a present of a little glass tea-light holder which she loved :D And I wrote a note on her card about how much I'd learnt and thanking her for believing in me... I'll miss having lessons. But I'm thinking about teaching myself some Folk Fiddle stuff :D Cos I know it's so much fun to play! So it's not all bad I guess :)
But anyway, my netbook battery is nearly dead so here's today's photo and over and out :) Xo
Oh, and I have another fault to add to my list... I'm very stubborn :P
